Rochelle Loves Chicago

Recently, my fiance and I took a much needed weekend getaway to the wonderful city of Chicago. For Torontonians like us, Chicago was a great place to visit because it’s just a short plane-ride away, and offered so much for us to see and do (and eat!). So here’s a recap of all the stuff I loved about Chicago!

Flying Porter was a treat, and my first time. Complimentary drinks, snacks, and newspapers in the gate lounge was nice.

After we checked in at the hotel, we asked the concierge to recommend a good place to go for lunch. We were told to go check out “Taste of Chicago” which just happened to be taking place that weekend. What good timing!

The “Bean”

Hanging out in Millennium Park on a gorgeous sunny summer day

The architecture – we took an architectural river cruise and learned all about the unique and beautiful buildings of the city of Chicago

We tasted authentic deep dish pizza for the first time. One word: YUM!

The Chicago CityPASS got us into the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museaum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and The Sky Deck atop the Willis Tower

An amazing South American inspired meal at Carnivale Restaurant

Art, art, and more art. I love art.

Tons of walking around the city

Sunday night at the Navy Pier

Seeing lots of stuff with the word “Chicago” on it

Garret’s Chicago Mix pop corn…omg…sooooo gooooood, that people wait in lines up that wrap around the corner to get this stuff

Authentic Chicago style hot dogs (no ketchup allowed).

Thanks for a fun time Chicago! We hope to come back and visit you again!
